DuPont™ Tyvek® UV Facade (black) – a long-lasting, breathable diffusion membrane for open and ventilated facades
This membrane is manufactured using advanced production technology, giving it exceptional properties: it allows water vapor to pass through easily, but completely protects the thermal insulation from wind, water, and UV rays. Enhanced resistance to harmful radiation ensures long-term structural protection.
Application:
Tyvek® UV Facade is designed for open and ventilated facades and can be installed on wood, metal, stone, and other materials. The membrane ensures the longevity and energy efficiency of the building, even under intense sunlight.
UV resistance:
15-year warranty when the width of the joints does not exceed 3 cm for horizontal installation and 2 cm for vertical installation.
Vertical service life up to 50 years when installing boards up to 2 cm.
Recommendation:
Use black Tyvek® UV Facade adhesive tape to seal joints. Only a continuous structure will be completely wind and watertight.
Technical data:
- Name: 2524B Tyvek® UV Facade
- Composition: HD-PE & PP (high-density polyethylene with polypropylene)

(1) According to EN13859-2: for open facades, the film was tested for 5000 hours of continuous UV exposure (standard for walls/roofs is 336 hours), after which the product complied with all European Union construction product directives.
(2) When the material is laid together with mineral wool, the classification according to flammability is D-s1, d2 (KB-Hoch-080796).
Complies with LST EN 13859-1:2005 + A1:2009 “Flexible waterproofing membranes.
Definitions and characteristics of underlayments. Part 1.
Underlayments for discontinuous roof coverings” and its Annex ZA.
Recommended requirements for open facade installation:
a = gap between finishing materials
b = finishing width
a = max. 3 cm
b ≥ 2 x a
For example:
a = 2 cm
b = 4 cm
This is a necessary condition to ensure the long-term functionality of the membrane.
